The perfect woman?

She must have flaws. Maybe someone can point them out to me. After I read this in the Tribune today, I'm pretty sure she doesn't...
"Bombshell actress Alyssa Milano has announced the March 24 release of her new book, 'Safe at Home: Confessions of a Baseball Fanatic,' reports the Philadelphia Daily News. The book's foreword was written by fellow baseball scribe and Dodgers manager Joe Torre...According to the synopsis at Harper Collins, the book 'tells the story about her lifelong obsession with baseball, revealing what the game has meant to her and why everyone should take a chance on nine innings.'"

I just want you to know that I'm intentionally not making jokes about reaching first base, second base, or third base. That would be in bad taste.

Coolest baseball video I've ever seen

Included in this 10 minute video...footage of the 1910 World Series (!) between the Cubs and the A's. Also, footage of the famous 1919 Black Sox World Series (!). There are clips from the 1904 Series (NY Giants) and the 1909 Series (Pirates/Tigers) too.

I know I'm a geek, but I've been looking for stuff like this for the past two years and I've never seen any of it before...

Losing is soooo last century

I don't want to over-react to the big spring training debut, but this shirt kind of says it all, doesn't it?

Our shirts and hats are still 19.08% off until Opening Day.

Get yours here today.

E-mails, we get e-mails...

I got this e-mail last week...

"A regular reader directed me to your website after completing my book Every Hundred Years … or so: A Typical Cubs Fan Chronicles an Atypical Season. He enjoyed it greatly and thought you might be interested as well.

All proceeds from my book are going to a long-suffering Cubs fan (40+ years) who, like you and I, became inflicted in the 1967-68 timeframe. Phil is a father of four who has been battling Multiple Myeloma for the past four years. Details of the project, including excerpts, are at www.everyhundredyears.com.

It’s for a great cause and reliving the 2008 season will allow you to enter the 2009 season with your guard up.

Thanks,
Rick Brimeyer"
