(Ex-Cubs) Blue Jays with a ring

As this future Cubs championship season progresses, we're going to highlight Ex-Cubs who have won rings with other teams. Because the Cubs are playing the Blue Jays this weekend, we begin by highlighting the ex-Cubs who won rings with Toronto.

(Note: In order to qualify for recognition, they must have already been ex-Cubs when they won the ring.)

The Blue Jays have won exactly two World Series titles, in 1992 and 1993. There were two ex-Cubs on the roster.

He was a key member of the 1992 champs, but he really made his mark the following year, hitting one of the most dramatic home runs in World Series history in 1993, the walk-off championship-winning home run (off fellow ex-Cub Mitch Williams). Blue Jays fans will always claim him, but we'll never forget where he began his career. He was traded by the Cubs to acquire Rick Sutcliffe.

He began his big league career with the Cubs in 1981, but was a part of the trade that helped the Cubs acquire Steve Trout in 1983. He later became an all-star, and in 1992, he was a key bench player for the Blue Jays when they beat the Braves in the World Series.

Love this site

I found this yesterday, and absolutely love it.

It's called: The Cubs in Haiku

What a great concept. I'm jealous I didn't think of it first. I bow to your greatness.
